Our Thoughts

Jack Frost is an excellent day-trippable mountain for those in the Philadelphia Area, especially those with an Epic Pass. For those looking to learn, practice, or dust off their skill before a larger trip it’s great.

Cost-wise, Jack Frost is very friendly. Even without a pass, prices are reasonable for a ski resort. If you’re capable of packing a lunch, have your own gear and a pass, it’s practically free.

While winning the value race, it’s also a mountain that’s very quick to grow out of. Camelback and Blue Mountain provide larger vertical drops (1,000 and 827 feet respectively) along with whole mountain greens. Giving beginners up to 3 times the distance with about the same driving time. Couple this with the fact that both mountains now have 5 or 7 days on the Ikon pass, and things are a little less clean-cut for beginners.
